Serving Central Texas
About us
We are a Central Texas team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live the life they choose.
Serenity Homes Wellness exists because the difference between a service that works and one that does not usually comes down to something simple: whether anyone asked the person what they wanted.
We provide Home and Community-based Services across Austin and Central Texas. That covers a range of support: a home to live in, a break for a family caregiver, help finding work, a structured day, or steady help with the things that make a week manageable. What the support looks like depends entirely on the person, and it changes as they do.
We are deliberate about the things that are easy to get wrong. We keep our teams small enough that people see familiar faces. We tell families the truth about capacity, even when the answer is no. We write things down and follow through. And when something goes wrong, we say so early rather than hoping it resolves itself.
None of that is remarkable. It is simply what we would want for someone in our own family, which is the only standard we have found worth using.
Our mission
To provide support that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities genuinely choose, delivered by people who know them well, so they can live full lives in their own community.
Our vision
A Central Texas where a disability changes what support someone needs, but never how much say they have over their own life.
Our values
Dignity first
Every person is the expert on their own life. We support decisions rather than make them, and we do not confuse being responsible for someone with being in charge of them.
Honest communication
We say what we can do and what we cannot. We would rather lose work by being straight with you than win it by being vague.
Consistency
Familiar faces and dependable routines are not a luxury in this work. They are most of what makes support feel safe.
Community, not separation
Support should connect people to the place they live: its jobs, shops, buses and neighbors, rather than shelter them from it.
Listening properly
Plans start with the person and the people who know them best. Behavior, preference and silence all tell us something worth hearing.
Accountability
We keep our commitments, we own our mistakes, and we tell you what we are doing about them and by when.
